KKF celebrates New Year with a blast! A blast of love for our beloved home Sibuyan Island!

This month, KKF is officially starting a campaign called I Love Sibuyan! Obviously, it's an initiative to rekindle our love for our home Sibuyan Island.

Our island is dubbed by the scientific communities as the "Galapagos of Asia". Its home to perhaps countless endemic flora and fauna, home to the cleanest river, home to the densest virgin forest and most of all home to the warmest people called Sibuyanons. More...

    One weekend on October 2006, three OFW Romblomanons working in Saudi Arabia were watching a TFC cable (The Filipino Channel) broadcast, about overseas Filipino organizations raising funds for various needy individuals & charities in the Philippines. It made a great impact on them and served as the inspiration to come up with the Kasimanwako Foundation.

    Other Romblomanons (both overseas and based in the Philippines) were soon contacted, brainstormed thru emails, chatrooms and text messages. The proposal was met with great enthusiasm and on January 7, 2007, a Friendster account (http://www.friendster.com/36914096) was created thereby officially giving birth to the foundation. Invitations were then forwarded to some more Kasimanawa's through the internet, thus having the first respondents form the core of the founding members. m

    On May 22, 2007, KasimanwaKo Foundation donated schools supplies to the school children of Layag Cultural Minority School in the highlands of Taclobo, San Fernando, Romblon.
