K2A Donates School Supplies to SMT Kids

K2A Donates School Supplies to SMT Kids
SMT kids happily display their new school supplies courtesy of KasimanwaKo Association.

On May 22, 2007, KasimanwaKo Association (K2A) donated schools supplies to the school children of Layag Cultural Minority School in the highlands of Taclobo, San Fernando, Romblon.

The SMT (Sibuyan Mangyan Tagabukid) School Children Outreach Program was the first project of K2A. The Association believes these children need help as they are literally deprived of the kind of education children in the lowlands are enjoying.

At least fifty school children from Grades 1 to 4 received school bags, notebooks, pencils, ballpens, erasers, crayons, scissors, pad papers and other school items.

A box of relief goods was also distributed to the parents of these children donated by OFW's from Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The Outreach Program was made possible through the funds donated by K2A members and some good hearted OFW's in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. K2A also acknowledges the efforts of the two dynamic teachers of Layag Cultural School.
